Overview
aPrivacy protects your privacy by giving you the ability to easily clean the traces you leave when using your computer. aPrivacy can clear internet URL history, typed URL, temporary internet files, internet cookies, autocomplete forms history, autocomplete passwords history, temp files, run history, document history, last logon user, find files history, find computer history, network connection history and telnet history. aPrivacy is very easy to use, with one click you can clear your traces.
Clearing Traces
Start aPrivacy and a small lock icon appears on the taskbar; Right click on it to show the aPrivacy menu.
Please note that some changes may take effect only after you log out.
Following is an explanation of each menu item:
Clear All - Choose this option to clear all the traces of your computer; both internet related and miscellaneous. It may take a few minutes for this action to complete.
Clear Internet Traces -
Clear Internet URL History -
Choose this option to clear the history of URLs you typed on your Internet Explorer browser.
Clear Internet URL History -
Choose this option to clear the history of the sites you visited using Internet Explorer browser.
Clear Typed URL -
Choose this option to clear the history of URLs you typed on your Internet Explorer browser.
Clear Temporary Internet Files -
Choose this option to delete all the temporary files Internet Explorer is using. These files are Internet Explorer cache and by clearing them you will free a lot of disk space.
Clear Internet Cookies -
Cookies are small IDs that websites sometimes use to save information about your visits to a site. Clearing the cookies makes it impossible for those sites to track you.
Clear AutoComplete Forms History -
Use this option to clear the auto complete forms option. Once you cleared the auto complete records, no one can know the values you typed in web forms.
Clear AutoComplete Password History -
Use this option to clear the auto complete password history. Once you cleared it, the browser wont auto complete your passwords on sites you previously entered them.
Clear All -
Clear all Internet related traces.
Clear Miscellaneous Traces -
Clear Temp Files - Use this option to clear temporary files windows is using. Clearing those files will also clear a lot of disk space on your hard drive.
Clear Run History - Use this option to clear the history of records you entered in the "Run" window.
Clear Document History - Use this option to clear the list of recent document you opened.
Clear Last Logon User - Use this option to clear the list of recent users who logged on this computer.
Clear Find Files History - Use this option to clear the list of files you searched for.
Clear Find Computer History - Use this option to clear the list of computers you searched on the network.
Clear All - Use this option to clear all miscellaneous traces.
